Business in the 21st Century is no longer supplier-driven (i.e. customers buy what is available).  It is demand-driven (i.e. customers want what they want when they want it).  What is more, product life cycles are shorter  and technology is changing rapidly almost on a daily basis.
 
It isn't enough to be a good performer, to do things right.  You must do the right things.  And the right things aren't found in R&D, production and finance as they used to be; they are found when you focus on clearly-defined markets and prospective customer.  In other words, clear strategy, sound marketing and effective sales are the keys to success.

What do I get out of this?

A lot.  I retired some years ago, and I am not looking for consulting for myself, although I do introduce  people who know my processes and are available to consult. 

 

During a career of over 45 years I  learned a lot of stuff that has been empirically verified by some pretty good companies. Most of what I have learned is in computer files - ready to be shared.  The bigger pieces of that knowledge base are in books that can be purchased from my distributors such as AuthorHouse, Amazon, Borders and the like.  (See the Publications section.)

 

 

So, the main thing I get out of this is something to do,  some good feelings of sharing some great stuff with people who can benefit from it and perhaps some recognition from them that the website is really helpful.
